Students who currently registered in CPT/IPCC can convert their registration into the Direct Entry Scheme if they have completed their graduation/ post qualification or have cleared the intermediate level of ICWAI/ICSI.
On conversion into the Direct Entry Scheme, the CA student can immediately start his articleship without the requirement of clearing IPCC Group I.
Conversion from IPCC into Direct Entry Scheme
A CA Student who has not cleared any group of IPCC Exams or has cleared 1 group of IPCC and has completed graduation/post graduation with more than 55%/60% marks can convert himself into the Direct Entry Scheme on payment of the fees as mentioned in the chart below.
If the student has already cleared one group of IPCC, in conversion into Direct Entry Scheme – he/she would only be required to clear the IPCC Group which he/she has not cleared. In other words, the result of the group which they have already cleared would remain valid and they would only be required to clear the group which they have not cleared.
In case the student has not cleared any group of IPCC, he/she would be required to clear both the groups of IPCC after conversion into the Direct Entry Scheme.
Old : Such students would be allowed to start their articleship on completion of the 100 hours ITT Course and 5 day orientation course.
New : Students registered w.e.f. 1st July,2017 onwards are required to successfully complete Integrated Course on Information Technology and Soft Skills (ICITSS) before commencement of the Practical Training. ICITSS is combination of Information Technology (IT) and Orientation Course (OC) which will be of 15 days each for IT and OC respectively. The students are required to undergo the courses by registering in the online portal www.icaionlineregistation.org. Students who have already undergone either of the courses, i.e. OC or IT has to undergo only the remaining course i.e. ICITSS (IT) or ICITSS (OC). Relaxation in the eligibility criteria of completion of nine months of Practical Training to appear in Intermediate (IPC) Examination for students registered for Intermediate (IPC) under CPT Route and converted to Direct Entry Scheme
In order to mitigate the hardships being faced by the students who have originally registered for Intermediate (IPC) Course under CPT Route and shifted to Direct Entry Scheme, the Council on consideration decided to relax the criteria of completion of nine months of Practical Training for appearing in the Intermediate (IPC) Examinations and passed the resolution under Regulation 205 of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988.
The fees that would be required to be paid for conversion into Direct Entry Scheme for Students who have already registered for IPCC under the CPT Scheme is mentioned below:-

Students who have registered for CPT and have completed their graduation/post graduation with more than 55%/60% marks can convert themselves into the Direct Entry Scheme. Such students would be exempted from the requirement of clearing CPT Exam and would be directly enrolled for the IPCC Exams.
They would also be exempted from the requirement of clearing IPCC Group I to start articleship. They would only be required to complete complete Integrated Course on Information Technology and Soft Skills (ICITSS) before commencement of the Practical Training.
