A famous chaatwala shop in Patiala has declared an undisclosed income of Rs 1.20 crore in Income Tax Department’s raid.
The Income Tax Department had raided the chaatwala shop on Wednesday. On Thursday, the chaatwala shop owners declared this unaccounted income.
It comes just a week later when the Income Tax Department raided the famous Pannu Pakaora shop in Ludhiana, a report said.
The Income Tax teams had started survey on Patiala chaatwala’s two presmies on Wednesday. These premises included a factory in the Focal Point area and booking office on the Sirhind Road.
On the basis of this disclosure, the chaatwala now have to pay approximately Rs 52 lakh as income tax.
A report said that the team of IT officials were shocked to find out that the chaatwala had amassed unaccounted income and made huge investments in real estate. The chaatwala also did not file his Income Tax Return (ITR) for the last two years, the report said.
This chaatwala also has constructed two party halls he earns Rs 2.50 to Rs 3 lakh per function to supply the only chaat.
The figure of his evaded tax can rise further as his sale and purchase are done out of books.
